The Pedals are a power pop band with the hooks and melodies of the past presented to a new generation. Taking influences from classic artists like The Beatles, The Beach Boys, The Bee Gees and Badfinger; The Pedals meld the gap between past and present with their strong sense of catchy melodies and rich vocal harmonies.

The band was first conceived by songwriters and multi-instrumentalists Dylan James and Marisol Cruz who had a passion to bring back that melodic sound that made those songs of the past so timeless. Their recording debut was released back in July of 2021 with their single "Ever So Long," which set the tone for their debut album released later that same year. The album, titled Homemade, is an adventure into classic pop music filled half with sunshine, Beatleseque pop originals and the other half with tasteful arrangements of past classics. The following year saw the release of two new singles in The Hollies style "True To You" and the 70's Archies influenced "She's The Sunshine." All releases that showcased the talents of James and Cruz as not only exceptional upcoming songwriters and arrangers but as talented multi-instrumentalists and producers.

With the addition of two new bandmates, Dominique Hallberg (Guitar) and Greg Dent (Guitar, Trombone & Vocals), The Pedals have taken their music to the stage and back to the recording studio as a newly formed quartet. Their newest single is their greatest effort yet filled with a heart warming melody, rich layers of vocal harmonies and a tasteful orchestration that continues the trend of The Pedals evolving sound.

About your Project

The Pedals are a Canadian power pop band out of Vancouver, British Columbia. Spear headed by upcoming songwriters Dylan James and Marisol Cruz who had a yearning to bring back the melodic qualities that made the music of the past so timeless. With the additional help of bandmates Dominique Hallberg and Greg Dent, The Pedals' sound is rounded out with the smooth harmonies and melodic hooks of the past.

Some would describe The Pedals as a band dedicated to the sound of good melodic pop music with their catchy melodies inspired from the British Invasion, their rich harmonies of groups like The Beach Boys and The Carpenters, and finished off with the grooves of Motown soul.

Their debut album, released on September 24, 2021, showcases James and Cruz's talents as songwriters, arrangers and instrumentalists as all the efforts were done by the duo. Since then the two have recruited the talents of Greg Dent and Dominique Hallberg who have added their skills to The Pedals' sound in both live shows and recordings. Dent and Hallberg's recording debut is The Pedals newest single, "Love Is Just A Game," which will be dropping this August 18.

The newest single from The Pedals, titled "Love Is Just A Game," is a song of the summer. An orchestral pop tune that takes you on a journey with love and its many different stages, and the feeling of reaching that end goal with someone special. With its beach boys influenced layer of vocal harmonies, a heart warming melody, a Carpenters like vocal and a tinge of sunshine pop makes The Pedals new release a well packaged single to round out the summer.
